Place/Location: Cedarvale Road, Sandy Creek
Road Trip: Private property approximately 1 hour from Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.
Description: The property has open camping spaces, 20kms of 4WD tracks. Flush toilets and hot showers. Quiet, peaceful location.
Facilities: Campsites suitable for tents and caravans (however road leading to ground can get boggy after heavy rainfall); Toilets; Hot showers; 4 Wheel Driving; Bushwalking; Bird Watching; Open fires; Dogs allowed (must be kept on a leash); NO RUBBISH BINS - must take rubbish with you.
Cost:
Ph: 07 5498 1032 - Mobile: 0418 762 540
My view: Quiet and peaceful. Shower block was clean and tidy. 4WD tracks were fun, the views from the top lovely. The creek had very little water (to be expected with the lack of rain), but was refreshing just the same. Plenty of open space, very little shade though.
Google Earth:
4WD Tracks: Variety of tracks for different levels of experience.

As at the last xmas party (2006) Sandy Creek was just that SAND! Not a drop in site. I would suggest checking if the creek is flowing in the hotter months for a comfortble camp.

A speck of rain and you cant drive tracks as owner windges, useless park map(if you could call it a 4x4 park, more like a cow cockies paddock) over priced, over rated would rather spend the extra 20 in fuel and go LCMP,at least you have the freedom to camp and drive when you want. Four thumbs down for me on this place.

I think you have a short memory, it wasnt a speck of rain, it was a storm that flattened our tents, and as for not much of a 4x4 park, i recon if your new to 4bs, its a great place to start, and Scotty certainly found a track that was more than he could handle, it left him hanging by his seat belt.

The only conplaint I'd have about the place is you should be handed a set of rules.

Jim

Yep I remember but exactly it was a storm and not much more, by the time we went driving it was fairly dry again, nothing that was going to destroy tracks by driving on them anyway. As for a 4x4 park, well no graded tracks a map that makes absolutely no sense,I could see new 4b driver getting in more trouble there than LCMP.Not even to mention the rules!

Anyway thats my opinion of the place,I go camping to enjoy what I want when I want,Sandy Creek reminds me of a Caravan Park.

I respect your opinion, but I would definatly stay their again.
I quite enjoyed it when Brian the owner delivered the paper to us on Sunday morning, at the xmas camp. That was definatly a first for me.

I can see me lying in my hammock beside that creek after a good rain, reading the paper and listening to the cricket on the radio.

Yer I can see how some ppl could sit back and enjoy, but personally for the price that you pay there, I'd like the option to rip some tracks apart then come back and lay in my hammock with a beer Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

The lack of water was the big downer for me. I would go again in winter but NEVER in summer unless the creek was flowing.

Didnt see the tracks but I did hear Scottie on the UHF calling out for help LOL. It was one of our first trips and I remember thinking holy moly what have I gotten us into! What shocked me the most was how calm his wife was!!!!!

The owner was happy to take the money but every time we crossed paths after that he complained-Jim's dog left footprints, your car destroys the tracks, even when driving the entrance track to the camp ground he windged about having to get a grader to fix the track because ppl where driving on it!!! What got me is no rubbish facilities, you would at least expect a rubbish drum for the amount that is charged!!! I think his wife has selective hearing:-)

You know Pamela I never did see the seatbelt picture. I think Scott paid Red Kev off so that I didn't see it!
