.This year the 4 x 4 Coroboree of the four wheel drives was held in Kalbar, hosted by The Motley Crew.
It was a great long weekend. There was around different 30 clubs there this year.
Rod and I headed out to Kalbar on Friday avo with a few others.
We got set up and went over for the meet and greet and stayed for a bit of the Trivia night and then came back and sat around the patio heater with other club members.
On the Saturday most of the went on a self drive along the Condamine River and then on to Queen Mary Falls. This was an easy drive with beautiful scenery. Parts of the drive were steep. Big Rod and Ryan had problems with their 4wd's overheating.
Barry had the biggest problem with thier 4wd stopping and starting and had to be towed by the racq back to Killarney.
We continued on and all met at the park at the start of the Queen Mary Falls drive to re group. We continued up to the Queen Marys falls awaiting the news if Barry's 4wd could be fixed. Some went to the cafe for coffee and icecreams etc and others did the walk to the falls. I had a bad knee so couldn't walk anywhere which was a bit frustrating.
We drove to Killarney to pick up Barry and Stephi as the car could not be fixed, They thought maybe have been the fuel pump.
We all met back at Kalbar. Barry & Stephi took our car to Ipswich to get a new fuel pump hoping that would fix the problem. Rod,Rob and I went over to the hotel to watch the AFL grand final. Go the Hawks!!!!!! who won by a wide margin over the Eagles. Stephi and I had dinner at the hotel which was very nice as the boy's went back with Big Rod's trailer to bring the 4wd back from Killarney.
The entertainment was great. Sam did a great job getting up on stage singing and dancing.
Sunday morning most of the club went on an organized drive which was on a privat property with great views once again. This drive was a bit harder which was good.
After the drive some of us headed to Lake Moogerah for lunch and drinks before heading back to camp.
That afternoon Rob,Rod,Kris and Barry worked on the 4wd putting in a new fuel pump but didn't make any difference. Barry rang racq and had the 4wd towed back to Maroochydore.
Some of us went over to the hall to watch the NRL grand final which was very exciting with the Cowboys just winning. They then did the raffles etc and had more live music to finish the night.
Thank you everyone for a great weekend and we loof forward to the one at Woodford next year
ps Thankyou Meaghan for attending the country meeting on our behalf and thanks to Rob for helping out taking Barry and Stephi's camper and them back home.

Saturday 3rd October, Condamine River drive graded easy. About 13 club vehicles lined up for the 0830 start in perfect weather. The drive took us through Boonah and up towards Queen Mary Falls. President was having UHF radio problems, this was overcome by borrowing a portable from Chris & Eddy. Driving up through the Main Range National Park brought some wonderful scenery on a tight winding road and with the windows down the sound of bellbirds could be heard. We then started the climb and on nearing the top we had a few cars with overheating issues. While we waited for the cars to cool down we all admired the view and waterfall in the distance. We were about to get under way but Barry & Steff could not get their car started. Kris worked his magic & got the car going but alas, not for too much longer. As we all made our way along the Condamine River track, crossing the River 14 times, unfortunately Barry broke down again which then required a tow from Big Rod to Killarney. This split the group and we eventually regrouped at Browns Falls picnic area for lunch. After lunch we made our way to Queen Mary Falls. A short walk took us to the spectacular falls. After ice creams & bird feeding we wound our way back to camp through dense forests & some very nice scenery. The 3 to 4 hour drive ended up taking about 7 hours but well worth the effort.
