Well, where to start?
Christmas camp 2014 started for us on Thursday night after soccer, when Jay, our regular ring in Connor and myself headed up the highway to Gympie. Armed with a packet of chips for dinner we did the 2 hour run to Inskip Point.
Arriving at camp about 8.00 we found a number of camps already set up including some that had been in place all week thanks to the clubs permanent visitor Tassie(he should move here full time) Bill.
Having a roof top made it easy to sneak in and score a beach side spot. Once set up it was time for some quiet socialising before bed.
Friday morning we set up the club tarp and spent the day welcoming other members and enjoying the great weather. The fishing wasn’t the best although Jay did catch a nice size bream.
Saturday was spent getting ready for the Christmas Party, playing Jenga under the club tarp and avoiding the 59 degree sand.
At about 4.00 we kicked of the party with games for the kids with the shaving dad game and beach cricket a lot of fun. A visit from Santa was a big hit with the kids.
Before dinner we all got dressed in our Island theme costumes for the nights activities which included a great dinner, awards and every ones favourite Adult secret Santa with a 12volt camp shower being very popular and a love heart that is an early contender for next years, what were you thinking award. The rest of the night was spent dancing and listing to music.
Sunday morning we spent relaxing and drinking plenty of water, before packing up and heading to the point for a swim.
The trip home was a dusty one with a few of us taking The Cooloola Way and for those without aircon having to deal with a 42 degree heat.
A great weekend was had by all, with Special mention to Sam and Brad for their efforts in putting the party together.
