Well, what a weekend had by all.
Friday night was a nice night with everyone settling around the tables having a nice catch up. Conversation was flowing freely about everyone's Christmas events. Was a late night for some but others snuck off early .
Saturday morning was beautiful. Up at 5.30am to admire the sunrise and have a swim with baby Blake & Martin. Was only 3 of us awake so was very quiet. The water was like having a nice warm bath. Everyone started waking. Brooke & Paula went for a walk in to town and a few went shopping for some supplies. Rest of the day was spent relaxing under the gazebo have drinkies and nibblies and watching Kris & Dayne do a spot of fishing. (Dayne was the only one to catch a fish :) )
Sun started settling and the winds decided to pay us a visit. Andrew & I coped a battering in the van so we through everything inside and hooked up and moved to higher ground. The ones that went to bed early from the sunstroke *wink* didnt realise what was happening outside until about 2am when they realised the rocking motion wasn't them sleeping in a waterbed. Caravans were like a washing machine inside with the rocking motion from the wind gusts. Tents were well sheltered up the back thankfully. Tent poles now shaped like the letter L fro m being bent over from the winds.
Busy Sunday with everyone moving camps so we were protected a little bit more. Once everyone was settled again there was the Triple J 100 countdown blaring ( but with more oldies than young ones it soon got changed) The Coits came out and the best of the day was Bid Rod getting 2 out of 3 on the pole. Everyone bought out the food and we all sat around chatting away and relaxing. Some played cards and others just talked the night away.
Monday saw everyone pack up early to head home. Some went home via the highway and were home in 2 hrs, others who decided to go along the beach home didnt fair as well. up to 5 hrs from Rainbow to the Barge :(. But they eventually made it home. Thanks all for making the weekend with worst weather in to a nice catch up time.
