Friday lunchtime Karen Jay and I arrived at Charlie Moreland to find Kev and Julie set up and enjoying the peace and quiet.
After setting up, Kev, Jay and I went out to do a recky on the tracks we would use for the DAP
Friday arvo saw many other members arrive including Rob, Deno, Andrew Meaghan, Rod , Heather, Brad and Sam.
With the fire started we settled in for a relaxing sometimes chilly evening and we were joined by new members Brendan and family.
Saturday morning we were joined by more members, as well as Tony from 4wd Qld who came along to pass on his knowledge and give us a few pointers on running a successful DAP.
After some theory and recovery techniques and safety we headed off through the creek to do the driving part of our program.
After a number of obstacles and challenges, members were shown then completed the stall recovery technique on a hill before heading back to camp via a few more tracks.
Saturday afternoon, our day trippers headed home and few more members arrived as we cranked up the fire for a night of yarns and ales.
Sunday morning, Karen and Julie went hiking as new group of arrive for their Dap day which went well with a repeat of Saturday.
In total we had about 20 members put through the program making for a great weekend camping.
Big thank you to Tony from 4wd Qld as well as Kev and Brad for their help in presenting the DAP over the two days.
See you on the next trip.
