Trip Report Mt Mee Day Drive
Karen, Jay, myself, Kev, Julie, new members Chris and Julia and visitors Scott and Karen headed out from Caloundra to Woodford where we met up with Paula, Rod, Andrew, Keeley and Michael. Past members, Mick and Sonja and visitor Scott with little his two little ones, Maddison and Clayton.
After instructions from Rod about our day including being observant to answer trivia questions at lunch, we aired down and headed off into the D'Aguilar National Park.
We went passed the Neurum Creek Bush Retreat (which the club has stayed at a number of times and is a great camp ground) and travelled along the forestry tacks to our first stop which was Bulls Falls, a quick walk down to the lookout and a couple photos and we were off again down to the rock pools, which were very inviting with Jay keen for a swim, but decide to climb the rocks instead.
From there we dropped in to the Neurum camp ground to see what it offered then headed to the lookout over Somerset and Wivenhoe Dams, before heading for lunch at the Gantry.
Lunch was a lot of fun with the trivia questions proving just how non observant a few of us were, with Andrew and I getting a combined score of 3, showing the club is in good hands. The winners though with 9.5 I believe were Kev and Julie.
After lunch we headed back to Woodford then into Glasshouse with a plan to take on some more challenging tracks. However just as we got to the tower the big F truck decided to lose power steering. Out came the tools and the girls saw the opportunity to volunteer to go and buy some power steering fluid, and rewards themselves with a coffee.
After the girls returned and with what we hoped was a fix, we started the motor only to have the fluid squirt straight out. The decision was made to head to the look out and call RACQ.
After saying our goodbye we all headed home.
Thanks to Rod and Paula for relaxing family day.
