Mapleton state Forest.
Petrina and myself (80 series) were first to arrive at the ginger factory which was our meeting point, followed by Trever, his son and Sandy (80 series) Jim(gu) Brad(gu) Frank(Colorado) and our trip leader Rob(Hilux) .
9am we headed off down to the Yandina side of Mapleton Forest were we aired down and got straight into our first track, and it was a good one. Roughly 200m in we had to stop and bring out the chainsaws to clear the track as Rob and Jim were using the chainsaws Brad, Trever and myself dragged the cut pieces off to the side while Petrina had the job of photographer and Frank took on the roll as supervisor to make sure we followed safety procedures. This went on for the next km or so then it became a nice little drive for the morning.
At 11:30am we headed off to lunch were we had a great chat.
About 12:30pm we were back on the track think it was called Wind break North which had some nice scenery. Then we turned into Port break then a un-named track and wallens track which all had nice challenging descendants and good climbs up. At Mount Bottle and Glass we found a mountain bike track were Jim was a little kid and had to run over some of the jumps. We made our way out to the road were we called it a day at 3pm.
Trever and myself headed home and the rest of the club headed on a quick reccy for the afternoon
